In-House Patent Attorney

Step into an In-house Patent Attorney position with the feel good factor

Enjoy this broad IP role and take on full responsibility for a designated product group

Work directly with technical teams and be involved with the latest technologies

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare manufactures medical devices specialising in the rapidly growing fields of Respiratory and Acute Care and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, with products sold in more than 120 countries. Our IP team supports more than 350 Engineers, Researchers and Clinical Scientists.

This position is not only cross functional but has the autonomy and scope, which sets it apart from other roles in the New Zealand market. Working directly with managers you will be involved in  all aspects of IP within a product group including patent clearance for new designs, IP protection, competitor investigation and patent prosecution. You will find yourself completely immersed in the business and will put to use not only your expert technical skills but also your commercial awareness, eye for detail, well-practiced communication skills and of course your knowledge of patent law.

For this position we require at least 5 years' experience in a patent firm and ideally a mechanical, electronic, science or technology degree. We are also open to previous experience in a patent examiner or an in-house patent attorney role. The role has the scope to be a senior role dependent on the experience level of the successful candidate.
