Fisher & Paykel Healthcare manufactures medical devices specialising in the rapidly growing fields of Respiratory and Acute Care and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, with products sold in more than 120 countries. Our IP team supports more than 320 engineers, researchers and clinical scientists.

Working directly with managers you will be responsible for all aspects of IP including patent clearance for new designs, IP protection, competitor investigation and patent prosecution.  You will find yourself completely immersed in the business and will put to use not only your expert technical skills but also your commercial awareness, eye for detail, well practiced communication skills and of course your knowledge of the law.

You will have between three and ten years experience in a patent firm and have a mechanical, electronic, science or technology degree. Experience in medical devices and/or software engineering will be a distinct advantage.  We are also open to previous experience in a patent examiner or an in-house patent attorney role.
